For the first time Russia is establishing a Unified Register of foreign recruitment companies and educational consultants.

A unified register of foreign recruitment companies and educational consultants is a must-have tool for the increasing number of foreign students in Russia. The center of education export and state body “GlavExpertCenter” have reached certain agreements on creating a Unified Register of certified foreign recruitment companies, which would help Russian universities to establish business relations only with the responsible recruitment agents of foreign students.

The CEO of the “GlavExpertCenter” Igor Filatov noted that one of the fundamental trends in the development of the global education market is constantly increasing role of the agents, whose cervices due to the social or cultural peculiarities of various regions of the world are used by 65% to 90% of those who wish to study abroad.

Mr. Filatov proclaimed: “We estimate that there are thousands of recruitment companies in the world but not all of them are fully capable of maintaining a high level service. We cannot ignore this situation and should provide Russian universities with the opportunity to develop the working relationships only with those agents who work transparently and are ready to disclose necessary information.” 

The leading analyst of the “GlavExpertCenter” Vera Skorobogatova truly believes that providing the necessary information for keeping the register is also in the interests of the recruiting agents. She says: “It is the fact that good agents suffer from consequences caused by irresponsible and unprofessional agents. Taking into account the world experience, Russia sets certain standards of work in the Russian education market.”

According to the CEO of the Center of Education Export Mr.  Nersesyan, the main task is to demonstrate to foreign recruiting companies a high level of education in Russian universities, hospitality and friendliness towards foreign students and opportunities for future career, available to foreign students and graduates.

He has declared: “Working in the global education market, we must constantly consider that with all its advantages, our universities will always compare with the universities of other countries. The goal is to keep foreign recruiters informed about the opportunities offered by the Russian education system, which they in turn could provide competent advice to potential students.”

The Unified Register of certified foreign recruitment companies will be formed within the framework of «Knowledge Data on Process of Recognition of Foreign Documents on Education» by the «GlavExpertCenter» and will be available to Russian universities by subscription.
